On a related note, Itō’s Oume has a mixed-blood daughter. She is about eight years old this year. She currently lives with a white family in Cranbrook and attends school. Oume sends 16 dollars a month for childcare fees, but what will be the fate of this child? Today she visits Oume every Sunday. Of course, she calls Oume ‘mama.’ As she was conceived while Oume was at work, she does not know her father. However, it is not only Oume who gave birth to a mixed-blood child. In fact, Omine, who lives at Hashimoto’s in Cranbrook, Memmy, who is Tsurutarō Mizoguchi’s wife and currently lives in Macleod, and the wife of Yamada in Calgary all fall into this category. Yamada’s gave birth to a mix-blood child of a black, and the child lives with a black family in the city of Calgary. This is a boy, who is three or four years old. When he was born, Yamada was in a rage with a red face because it is outrageous to have an alien child. It resulted in a huge drama where a life was put at risk. Embarrassing thing.
I got sidetracked from a route of pioneering to a story of mix-blood children but let me quickly return to the subject matter.
However, it would be too lengthy if I discuss every single town, so I would like to speed up and touch on the remaining briefly. The founding figures of Calgary include Tsurutarō Mizoguchi and Sentarō Ōta, but currently it is occupied by fellows from Izu, such as Yamada, Maguchi and Iida. The area covering Fernie, Blairmore to Hosmer was pioneered by Tokuzō Umino, Taizō Kishida, beggar Taguchi, Tsurutarō Mizoguchi, Yonosuke Chiba. Among those, Umino attempted to open a cave in Fernie after the fire and failed. He was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture. There was an incident that went like this: He tried to bring his wife’s sister from Japan but he was not able to obtain a visa. Then he asked Rokusuke Uchida to use one of his contacts and successfully had the woman migrate to Canada. Of course, Rokusuke did not imagine that Umino was a devil and the woman was going to be a prostitute, but Umino is telling a complete lie to his interior fellows that he is related to Uchida. What nerve.
Taizō Kishida used to own a boarding house for sailors in Yokohama. Chibujin and Tetsuji Ishida mentioned above are his old friends. He is well-known as ‘Old Kishida’ in his community in Blairmore, but he is a troublemaker—he likes gambling more than having three meals, but he is extremely bad at it. His white friends call him King of Sports. King is an admirable name, whatever it is for.
Lethbridge only has one cave, which was initially opened up by Matsumoto. He owns the house too. Currently it houses a woman, who is in the company of a devil called Kinji Tomita, and Sugabe’s Osachi.
In fact, Sugabe is a real devil, who, with Yoshida in Yokohama, has sent in numerous prostitutes to the United States and Canada as a minion of Koyama in San Francisco. He is no longer permitted to migrate to this country even if his woman is in Lethbridge. Apparently, he changed his direction and is involved in the Manchuria region. He cannot be a decent fellow either way. Osachi was born in Kyōto and previously worked as a prostitute in San Francisco. She is not bothered at all by the fact that Sugabe is unable to come join her. She is an experienced, powerful woman. She has a dog and its name is shocking. Be prepared for the surprise: the dog’s name is Togo. This completely defames General Togo, whose grand name is widely known in the world.
There is a story about Osachi and Matsumoto. Matsumoto rents out his house in Lethbridge to Osachi at 80 dollars a month. When Matsumoto’s Oshige was still a housewife at the house, Osachi entrusted 600 to 700 dollars from her earnings to Matsumoto via Sugabe. As Sugabe is stuck in Japan as mentioned above, Osachi recently asked Matsumoto to return the money. Matsumoto’s response is terrible: “I am surely keeping the money because I was entrusted by Sugabe, so I will return it when he is back in the country”. Knowing that Sugabe would never return, he diverts the money to his own pocket. What is worse, according to the rumor circulating in their community, he was worried that the woman might make a great leap forward (!) with the funds and wanted to prevent it from happening.
Kinji Tomita was previously a straight body, working at a sawmill and other places, but sometime ago he joined devil fellows and has already led close to 10 women into prostitution. He was burnt out in Fernie this summer and was temporarily staying in Cranbrook but later went out to Lethbridge to obtain a great amount of funds and invest it in rebuilding his cave in Fernie; but apparently it resulted in a failure. He was born in Shizuoka.
Beggar Taguchi, who is also one of the losers from Fernie, is an ex-sailor and was once a deliverer at a soba noodle restaurant in San Francisco. At first, he brought a woman called Otama to this country and had her work with the name Misao (Virgin). How foolish is it to name a prostitute Misao. Otama currently owns a geta shoe house in Yokohama. Taguchi took Otama to Japan and brought another woman back. Apparently, the new woman is an ex-geisha and no other prostitute can compete with her on art entertaining skills.
