An Ugly Case (cont’d)
Soon after Chiba paid 150 dollar cash to Matsumoto and Omichi was thrown into Chiba’s cave, Chiba closed down his cave in Michel and moved to Cranbrook. However, he did not stay there for a long time, either, and he moved further to Calgary. The incident happened after this.
Omichi gave birth to her baby in Michel, fortunately without having childbed fever afterwards, and had already fully recovered when she moved from Cranbrook to Calgary. She started working and she became remarkably popular. However, ultimately a prostitute not equipped with woman’s virtue in the first place, Omichi ended up making a Chinese lover. But currently there are many devils in the interior, who attempt to defend Omichi seriously, saying that this accidentally happened as a result of being troubled by the attitude of alcoholic Chiba.
Zixuan, or in his English name, Joseph, foolishly spent a lot of money for Omichi. Omichi must have pondered and decided that she did not want to suffer, being locked up in Chiba’s cave. She was indeed somewhat in love with Zixuan, too. Eventually she followed Joseph’s plan and escaped from the cave one night, and hid somewhere in the city. This gave an extraordinary blow to Chiba. Omichi found refuge in a gambling house, which apparently had a secret room behind the wall.
Chiba immediately contacted the police to search for her and met fellows including Kimoto and Harada to cooperatively engage in a detective investigation all over the place. After all the hard work, he finally discovered Omichi’s whereabouts and tried to pull her out and take her back to his cave. But she persistently refused. Of course, it would be inconvenient for both the prostitute and Chiba to take her back immediately, and the situation was complicated; Chiba decided to tentatively have Omichi stay at a hotel in the neighbourhood and requested Harada and others to act as lookouts. Chinese Joseph kept visiting the hotel to see Omichi.
