Miscellany (cont’d)
Otaki already returned to Japan a long time ago. Although it might seem well off track, I would like to detail a story of her nephew, who I mentioned earlier is serving his prison time in Hong Kong.
Two year ago, there was a dreadful stabbing incident in Hong Kong. The victim is called Izo Sasaki. He was elected by a local gang to be a great boss and extremely influential in the trafficking abductor community. But he was too brutal and oppressive in treating his followers and he was enjoying a luxurious life all by himself with the illicit, injustice property. As a result, his followers swore at him at every occasion they got together. Izo sensed it but did not bend his attitude.
In the end, followers could not endure it any longer and three central members decided to confront him; they were prepared to kill him depending on the situation. They urged Izo for his final answer but he was stubborn and did not yield even one step, and instead, he gave them a warning. This led to a drama—snob Izo became a fragile victim of a dagger and died in a bloody haze. The perpetrators immediately made a getaway but were soon caught by the British Police and all three ended up with over-ten-year sentences. Since this stabbing incident, the regulation of the Japanese in Hong Kong became extremely stringent. Those who demonstrate any hint of violent act were deported and prohibited from staying, and fellows like Iwajirō Aida, a replacement for Izo, were immediately deported to Japan.
This is the end of the story of imprisonment of Otaki’s nephew. Bad influence of surroundings, a bad nephew for a bad aunt—the aunt juggled between prostitution and gambling, investing her profit into lovers and switching men when she got tired. She lived through this fallen life and left for Japan but the devils in the interior know nothing about Otaki. This is a rare story that comes from a person from a place near Nagasaki, who currently works in a sawmill in the interior and remembers a rumor about this woman, which he happened to hear when he was still in Japan.
