  1. This map, which is included in Tairiku Nippō’s publication Brothels in Canada (1910) based on the first part of “Exploration of Devil Caves,” identifies places where Japanese brothels were found in early 20th century.
    • Do you notice any interesting patterns among these locations?
    • Is there anything otherwise interesting or surprising about the map?

  3. Pick one or two locations. Do research to learn more about the history of these places.

  1. この地図は、「魔窟探検記」の正編をもとに出版された『加奈陀の魔窟』（1910）の口絵の一つで、20世紀初頭に日系移住者によって「売春」が行われていた場所を示している。
    • これらの場所に何か共通するパターンはあるか。
    • 他にこの地図について気づいた点、驚いた点はあるか。
